I got a message on MSN asking me to change my email adress?

Im not sure if it is a virus or real. It says its an offline message every time I sign on, from messenger@microsoft.com.





Oh and my email adress was made in probably 2006, and I do currently have the newest version of Windows Live.

Hi, I just answered this a minute ago. This is the fact:

it really does seem legit BUT now its changing to live.com I believe. I don't have a straight answer for you but i was told that @hotmail.com email addresses are going to be inactive soon. I do not know if this is true or not but they want you to change to a live.com i believe.





It is a real Microsoft server its under the help and FAQ questions.


Good luck. Oh, it also says that all your contacts and lists, emails etc will be transferred to your new Windows Live ID.

Reply:I got the same message.WLM signed me out,and when I tried signing back in,I got that message as well.





I won't click the link,tho,as it sounds virus-y,like someone posing as the WLM team.





This is definitely some sort of scam,as you can still send messages even when it will not let you sign in,and you still see when a friend signs in.
Reply:omg i got the same thing. and i logged in. and i have no idea i have no idea if it is a virus. im new to msn and now that i logged in my friend made me aware that there are some major viruses on msn.
Reply:I got it too! I just came on to check if anyone else was and to make sure it's not a virus. I'm not sure what's going on but if i find out i will come back and edit this and tell you =)
Reply:Everybody that has Hotmail account will get this message because of the worm (the conficker) that's going around. Microsoft is just concern about people who has Hotmail account.
