you can save it in a 97-2003 format. Just click "save as" and you will see the option - then your friend can open it.

It's a bit of a pain to keep doing that all of the time... but it works!
Reply:i think that somewhere on Microsoft.com they have a download for that.
Reply:then tell him to download Open Office 2 for free, it has all the same features as 2007 with more besides

It will open any and every type of document not only ms office..

tell him to download the one for windows....

Reply:Use WodPad re-save your file and send it to your friends by e-mail.
Reply:you can save your docs as either rich text or an older version of word doc.

or you can use google docs.
Reply:There are three solutions for this problem:

1. If your friend only wants to read the files, download the free Microsoft Word viewer.

2. If your friend wants to be able to edit the files, in Word 2007, do a Save As and select an earlier version of Word as the file type.

OR

3. On your friend's machine , download and install Microsoft鈥檚 free Compatibility Pack.

Hope that helps.
Reply:he should be able to download an update directly from the Office site to allow him to open the file if not then you can resave your file in 97-2003 format from the Save options in Word 2007!
Reply:Save your file in the .doc format by choosing save as and selecting word 97, 2000 etc. document. Or have friend to download word viewer 2007 or the .docx format plug-in.
Reply:By saving it as a .doc file.
Reply:Word can save the documents in .doc format. Try the 'save as' option and save the document as Word 2003 compatible doc format.

Otherwise he can download a convrter from MS update site.
Reply:Copy/paste the document into something generic- like notepad or wordpad, save it to your desktop... then re-send it. Wordpad should support most of your formatting, so it should look basically the same.

I've never had a problem when I've done that.
